Take a tram. Trams 19, 41, 56 and 56A all stop in front of the bath on the Buda embankment, about 2 minutes from the door, and 19 and 41 run along the river from Batthyány tér and the Chain Bridge. From Pest, the nicest way is on foot over Elisabeth Bridge, about 9 minutes from the Pest end.
Driving makes the least sense here. The bath publishes no car park, and the embankment in front of it is a main road.

Four lines stop at Rudas Gyógyfürdő, on the embankment in front of the bath, about 2 minutes’ walk from the main entrance.
- Trams 19 and 41 run along the Buda riverbank. Northbound they call at Clark Ádám tér, the Buda end of the Chain Bridge, and Batthyány tér for the M2, and they carry on to Lukács. Southbound they reach Szent Gellért tér for the M4
- Trams 56 and 56A link the bath with Széll Kálmán tér and Déli pályaudvar on the M2 one way, and Szent Gellért tér on the M4 the other
By bus
Buses 7 and 107 stop at Rudas Gyógyfürdő, right by the bath. Buses 8E, 108E, 110 and 112 stop at Döbrentei tér, a short walk north by the Buda end of Elisabeth Bridge.
By metro
No metro line stops at the door. The two nearest ways in are the M4 to Szent Gellért tér, then tram 19, 41, 56 or 56A for the short ride north, and the M2 to Batthyány tér, then tram 19 or 41 south along the river. From Széll Kálmán tér or Déli pályaudvar on the M2, trams 56 and 56A run straight here.
At night
Night bathing ends at 03:00, and the bath is on the night network. Night tram N19 stops at Rudas Gyógyfürdő, on a loop through Deák Ferenc tér, Astoria, Kálvin tér and Fővám tér. Night buses 907, 933 and 941 stop at the bath, and 908 and 908A at Döbrentei tér.
On foot
From the Pest end of Elisabeth Bridge (about 9 minutes)
Start at Március 15. tér, where trams 2, 2B and 23 stop, and cross Elisabeth Bridge. At the Buda end the bath is just to the south, on the riverside.
From Ferenciek tere (about 12 minutes)
From the M3 station, walk towards the river and over Elisabeth Bridge, then turn south along the Buda bank.
From the Great Market Hall (about 18 minutes)
Cross Liberty Bridge, then walk north along the Buda embankment, past the Gellért, to the bath.
From Gellért Thermal Bath (about 12 minutes)
The closed Gellért is south along the same embankment. Walk north with the river on your right.
From the Chain Bridge (about 15 minutes)
From Clark Ádám tér at the Buda end, walk south along the river. Trams 19 and 41 run the same way along the river, and are the better idea from Buda Castle.
By car and taxi
After night bathing, book a taxi through an app or from one of the licensed companies rather than hailing one on the embankment.
Accessibility
- The bath says it is not accessible to people with disabilities at the moment, because its stair lift is out of service and the wellness section cannot be reached by guests with reduced mobility. Do not plan a visit in a wheelchair until the bath says the lift is working again
- For the journey itself, trams 19, 56 and 56A run low-floor cars and stop at the door. Tram 41 is not on the transport company’s low-floor list
