The metro and one short bus ride is the way to Memento Park, and it works every day of the week. Take the M4 to its last stop, Kelenföld vasútállomás, and bus 101E or 101B from the station for 9 minutes. The park is about 9 km south-west of the centre, on a main road on the edge of the city, and there is nothing to walk to it from.
Driving is easy and parking is free, a taxi takes about 25 minutes, and the park will collect you in a Trabant if you book it.

Everything here is on the ordinary BKK network. A single ticket, a travelcard, a tourist pass or the Budapest Card covers the metro and the bus; buy single tickets from the machines rather than the driver, who charges more.
By metro and bus
- Step 1: take metro M4 (the green line) to its terminus, Kelenföld vasútállomás. From Pest it passes Kálvin tér and Fővám tér; from Buda, Szent Gellért tér and Móricz Zsigmond körtér.
- Step 2: leave the station by the Őrmező exit and board bus 101E or 101B in the direction of Budatétény vasútállomás (Campona). Either takes 9 minutes to the Memento Park stop. Bus 150 stops there too, but it starts at Újbuda-központ and takes 25 minutes.
- Step 3: from the stop, walk about 200 m west along Balatoni út to the brick gate.
The park says the buses run every 15 to 30 minutes. The 101E is the one to look for. It runs from early morning to late evening seven days a week, every 30 minutes at weekends and more often on weekdays. The 101B has a gap in the middle of the day.
What happened to the minibus from Deák Ferenc tér
For years the park ran a daily minibus from Deák Ferenc tér, and plenty of guides still mention it. The park’s own website no longer does. The only bus it offers is a private one, from wherever you like, priced on request, which makes sense for a group and not for two people.
If you want to be driven, the Trabant transfer is the one that is on sale.
Coming back
The return stop, for buses towards Kelenföld, is a few metres from the one you arrived at, on the other side of the road. Take 101E or 101B back to the metro, or stay on the M4 to Szent Gellért tér for the Gellért Bath and the Citadella, or to Fővám tér for the Great Market Hall.
On foot
Nothing is within walking distance. Kelenföld station is about 66 minutes away on foot, most of it beside a main road, so the bus is the last leg however you arrive.
By car and taxi
The park lies on road 7, Balatoni út. From the M0 ring road, leave at Diósd onto road 7 and drive about 5 km towards Budapest; the brick gate is on the junction with Szabadkai utca.
A taxi or Bolt from the centre takes about 25 minutes. Ask for “Memento Park, Balatoni út” and decide how you are getting back before you set off; the bus to Kelenföld is the easy answer.

Accessibility
- The park says its grounds are not barrier-free, because of the uneven terrain. The ground is mostly level, but the paths are gravel and the grandstand’s balcony is reached by steps.
- Metro M4 has lifts at every station, Kelenföld included, and space for wheelchairs in the carriages.
- Buses 101E, 101B and 150 are low-floor on most departures. Underlined times in BKK’s timetables are the low-floor ones.
- From the bus stop it is about 200 m along Balatoni út to the gate.
- Parking by the entrance is free in opening hours, which makes the car the easiest way in for anyone who finds the bus hard.
