Ferenc Puskás Stadium Opening Hours

The stadium has no opening hours of its own. What opens is the Puskás Museum, seven days a week from 10:00 to 18:00, and the three Arena Tours a day that leave from it. This page has the hours, the tour times, the closures that catch people out, and how long to give it.

The complication is the event calendar. A stadium that hosts the national team, cup finals and stadium concerts is closed to visitors whenever one of those is being set up or played, and the closures run from a single day to more than a month. The museum announces every one on its news page, which makes that page the first thing to read before you fix a date.

Opening hours

The hours are the same all year and the same on every day of the week. Last tickets are sold at 17:00, and the museum asks everyone to leave by 18:00. Tours leave at 11:00, 13:30 and 15:00.

Best times to visit

Time of day

Take the 11:00 tour. It is the first of the day, the museum has only just opened, and you are done by early afternoon with time to walk on to City Park. The 15:00 tour is the last one, so if you want the museum as well on a Combined ticket, do the museum first and the tour last.

Day of the week

Any day without an event. Because the museum opens seven days a week, the question is not weekday or weekend but whether there is a match or a concert that week, and the museum’s news page answers that.

Season

Hungary’s home internationals fall in the international windows through autumn and spring, and stadium concerts mostly in summer, so the closures do too. The museum is indoors and the stands are under the roof, so winter works well.

How long to spend

We would allow about 2 hours for the museum and the Arena Tour together. Your timing depends on which ticket you buy.

Arena Tour only, about an hour

Be at the museum desk in good time for the 11:00, 13:30 or 15:00 start; the museum does not publish the tour’s length.

Museum only, about an hour

Longer if you follow the full audioguide or add the guided museum tour at 12:00 or 13:30.

Museum + Arena Insight, a little over an hour

The museum, then a look at the bowl from the stands.

Combined ticket, about 2 hours

The museum and the Arena Tour back to back, which is how the museum sold its joint tour.

Frequently asked questions

What time does Puskás Aréna open?

The Puskás Museum opens at 10:00 every day of the week, and the first Arena Tour leaves at 11:00. The stadium itself has no public opening hours; the park around it is open from 06:00.

What time does it close?

The museum closes at 18:00, with the last tickets sold at 17:00, and asks everyone to be out by six. The park closes at 22:00.

When are the Arena Tour times?

11:00, 13:30 and 15:00, seven days a week outside event periods, with no more than 25 people on each tour. Tickets are sold at the museum desk on the day.

Is Puskás Aréna open on Mondays?

Yes. The museum and the Arena Tour run Monday to Sunday. The days they do not run are event days, whichever day of the week those fall on.

Is the venue open on match days?

Not to visitors. The museum and the Arena Tour stop for every match and concert, from the day before to several weeks at a time for the biggest events, and the museum posts each closure on its news page in advance.

How long does the Arena Tour take?

The museum does not publish a length. Its joint museum-and-stadium tour was advertised as a two-hour guided experience, so allow about 2 hours for the Combined ticket and rather less for the tour alone.
