Entry is not timed. You book a date, turn up when it suits you, and go through security like everyone else. The reason to book online is the queue you skip, the one at the ticket office. The reason to book carefully is that the entry ticket cannot be refunded or moved, and the synagogue is closed every Saturday and on every Jewish holiday.

Where to buy
Online: booking online is the simplest way to skip the ticket queue and the only way to lock in a walking tour. You get a ticket on your phone; no print needed.
On-site: the synagogue’s own ticket office at the entrance sells the same combined entry, with the guided tour included. It stops selling one hour before closing, and you queue for a ticket as well as for security.

Check the date is an open one
The synagogue is closed Saturdays and Jewish holidays, and closes at 14:00 before some of them. The list for the year is in our opening hours guide.
Receive your confirmation
You get a confirmation by email with your ticket. Show your phone at the entrance; no print needed.
Arrive ready for the dress code
Shoulders and knees covered. The dress code is enforced; bring a light wrap if you’re visiting in summer. Men are given a kippah at the entrance.
Before you go
- Ticket validity: valid only for the booked date. The entry ticket and the two-hour tour are non-refundable.
- Opening hours can change at short notice for services and events.
- Dress code: shoulders and knees covered, and men cover their heads. Entry is refused otherwise, ticket or no ticket.
- Security: all visitors pass through the security check. Nothing larger than hand luggage, and no tripods.
- Children under 6 enter free and need no ticket.
- Last entry: one hour before closing, which means 15:00 in winter, 17:00 in spring and October, 19:00 in summer, and earlier on Fridays.
