Vígszínház performances with English surtitles

Fourteen performances across thirteen dates carry English surtitles, which is the easy way into a Hungarian repertory company. Pride and Prejudice, Chaplin's The Great Dictator, The Great Gatsby, Chekhov's The Seagull, the family musical Pinocchio and the song cycle Sommerreise are all marked for them.

About the event

Pride and Prejudice is Krisztina Kovács and Péter Valló's version of the novel, a romantic drama in two acts of three hours ten minutes. The Great Dictator is the Chaplin film staged by Enikő Eszenyi, Miklós Vecsei H. and Róbert Vörös, with Eszenyi directing, three hours. The Great Gatsby, a musical by Adrián Kovács, Miklós Vecsei H. and Attila Vidnyánszky Jr., runs two hours fifty-five minutes, and David Doiasvili's The Seagull, a comedy, three hours forty. Sommerreise, a song cycle with Csilla Radnay in the Víg Szalon, is played in English with English and Hungarian surtitles. Pinocchio is Tamás Keresztes's Collodi, with songs by Gábor Presser, for ages ten upwards. Age guidance on the plays runs from twelve to sixteen.
