Stag roaring walks from the Budakeszi Vadaspark

Evening walks in the Buda hills during the rut, when red deer stags bellow across the clearings and clash antlers. The Budapest foresters of Pilisi Parkerdő lead one every night, and they are straight about it: hearing the roaring is not guaranteed.
About the event
The route is about three kilometres on easy ground and the evening runs to roughly three hours, with short talks along the way on the history of game management, Hungary's wild species and the life of the red deer. Each walk takes at most twenty people and has to be booked online beforehand. Wear closed shoes and dark clothing, take binoculars, and bring a head torch for the way back but use it only when the guide asks. Strong scent, camera flashes and dogs are all out. The booking page for these Budakeszi walks recommends them only from the age of ten, on the foresters' own experience.
