Skopje Via on the A38
Saturday 24 October

Balkan and Roma songs from a seven-piece Macedonian band, led by the accordionist and composer Mišel Trajkovski and the actress and singer Jana Stojanovska.
About the event
The band bill themselves as Skopje Via - Gypsy Project, and the songs are traditional Balkan and Roma, the readings kept faithful with a bohemian streak let loose on top and lyrics in several languages. Their motto is that being Gypsy is a state of the soul. They started with a single, Under This Sky, launched at a Skopje music bar, and have since played Roma Fest in Skopje, a showcase on the main stage of the PIN conference and a Budapest concert for Balkan Heritage Budapest. They have also taken part in a Serbian theatre and music spectacle at the Atelje 212 and opened for Rade Šerbedžija's concerts. Violin, clarinet, percussion, bass and guitar fill out the line-up.
