Researchers’ Night: free science events

Labs, universities and research institutes open up for Kutatók Éjszakája, with experiments, lab tours, talks and hands-on activities, all free, though some need registering. The programme search has a filter for events suited to non-Hungarian speakers.
About the event
Researchers' Night is a Europe-wide science festival backed by the EU, and Hungary has held it every year since 2005. This year 146 organisers are putting on some 2,500 events at 200 venues around the country, with events in the morning, afternoon and evening on both days.
Subjects range from the natural sciences, engineering and medicine to the humanities, agriculture and law, and the formats go beyond talks to escape rooms and VR. There are programmes for every age, from preschoolers to adults. Most are in Hungarian. In the programme app you can filter by city, age group, subject and time of day, and each listing says whether you need to register.
