Pride and Prejudice at the Vígszínház, with English surtitles

Jane Austen's novel as a romantic drama with live music and dancers, performed in Hungarian with English surtitles. It lasts three hours ten minutes, with one interval.
About the event
The stage version was adapted by Krisztina Kovács and director Péter Valló and premiered in March 2025. Andrea Waskovics plays Elizabeth Bennet, József Wunderlich is Mr Darcy and Barbara Hegyi is Mrs Bennet, with Sára Varga-Járó and Balázs Medveczky as Jane and Mr Bingley.
Dávid Mester wrote the music, played live on strings, flute, percussion and piano, and eight dancers perform Johanna Bodor's choreography. Eszter Kálmán designed the sets and costumes. If you know the book, the surtitles are enough to follow it comfortably.
