A big marquee in the Paulaner beer garden on Margaret Island, with Munich festival beers, Bavarian food and live brass bands over two weekends. Entry is free, and a second site on Erzsébet tér runs the same weekends.
About the event
Oktoberfest Budapest is in its 12th year. On Margaret Island it sits in a large festival tent in the Paulaner beer garden on the food promenade, so it carries on in bad weather. The beers are Paulaner and Hacker-Pschorr festival brews, the food runs to sausages and pretzels, and traditional bands from Hungary's German community, such as Lohr Kapelle, play polkas, waltzes and old favourites. Dirndls and lederhosen are very welcome.
Each day, the first 600 guests who buy a Paulaner Oktoberfest beer can have it poured into an official festival glass or take a festival hat instead, while stocks last. To book a table, email the organisers.
