Mala on the A38
Saturday 28 November

One of the people who invented dubstep, playing a late set in the ship's concert hall. The promoters TEST bring him back to Budapest.
About the event
Mala made his name in Digital Mystikz and as a co-founder of the DMZ nights in Brixton, where, with Coki and Loefah, he helped set the template for the genre. His label Deep Medi Musik has held to the same balance ever since, stripped-back musicality against heavy sub-bass. Expect 140 BPM, slow-breathing rhythms and basslines you feel in the chest rather than hear, pulled from a stash of dubplates and records that defined the sound, with no showmanship attached. Cadik, Zosha, Grandover and Celæna warm up, familiar local names alongside newer ones. It is a night event, over-18s only.
