Saturday 28 November

A Hungarian six-piece playing New Orleans music, out with a new album. They take the Lokál, the smallest of the Akvárium's three rooms, which holds three hundred.

About the event

Jambalaya formed in 2005, have put out seven albums of their own and have toured Europe, and their work has been recognised with a Gundel Art Prize. The name comes from the New Orleans dish, which can be put together any number of ways, and that is the point they are making about New Orleans music and how it keeps reinventing itself. The new album is Starry Road To Nowhere, and this tour takes it round Europe and Hungary. Nemes Zoltán sings and plays keyboards, with Bellák Miklós on guitar, Sóvári Tamás on trumpet, Magda Zsolt on saxophones, Varga László on bass and Szabó Tamás on drums.
