Hungarian Radio Children's Choir Christmas concert
Monday 14 December
The Hungarian Radio Children's Choir sings German Romantic music for Christmas in the Liszt Academy's Grand Hall, and brings the hall's organ into it.
About the event
Hungarian Radio's music ensembles present the concert, and three conductors share it: Soma Dinyés, Magdaléna Szűcs and Katalin Körber. At its centre are Mendelssohn's psalms for children's choir, which the choir stages, an Advent motet by Rheinberger, and Reger's cantata Vom Himmel hoch, which is rarely performed. The Palánták Choir adds a nativity play, and there is a taste of the traditional Hungarian Christmas repertoire for children's choirs. Tickets are sold through Hungarian Radio's own ticket shop, linked from the Liszt Academy's listing, and their price can change with demand.
