The Danubia Orchestra's family Nutcracker at the Liszt Academy
Monday 21 December

An hour of the best-loved music from The Nutcracker for families, paired with a brand-new story by Dani Varró. The Liszt Academy recommends it for children aged five and over.
About the event
This is a new family concert from the Danubia Orchestra, given twice on the day, once in the afternoon and once in the early evening, in the Academy's Grand Hall. Máté Hámori conducts, and the actor Zoltán Schneider tells the story, a retelling of the Nutcracker tale that Tchaikovsky's melodies answer as it goes. The music is a selection from the ballet score rather than the whole of it; the orchestra plays the complete score in the same hall a few days earlier. It is a way in for families whose children are too young for the Opera's ballet, which the Opera does not recommend for under-sixes.
