Chungking Express at the Bem Mozi
Tuesday 13 October

Wong Kar-wai's 1994 film, two stories of city loneliness told one after the other. The Bem runs it in the original language with Hungarian and English subtitles.
About the event
The original title is Chung Hing sam lam, and it is one of the defining works of 1990s film-making, and one of the most internationally successful. Two melancholy Hong Kong policemen fall for people they would be wiser to leave alone, one for a mysterious figure from the city's underworld, the other for a waitress at the late-night place he keeps going back to. Brigitte Lin, Takeshi Kaneshiro and Tony Leung Chiu Wai take the leads. It runs 102 minutes in colour, and the Bem sells tickets through its own page.
