Cem Yildiz and Balkan Taksim on the A38
Saturday 17 October

Anatolian folk pushed through an electric saz, a voice and a bank of machines, late on a Saturday night in the ship's concert hall. The Romanian act Balkan Taksim play before him, with Daniel Ban and Daniel Santiago also on the bill.
About the event
Cem Yildiz trained at the Istanbul National Conservatory and has built a sound that runs folk and electronic music together. It began with the album HÜ, made up of Alevi songs, and carried on through the groups Orient Expressions and Insanlar and tracks such as Stil, Ejma and Atlas, the last of those with Acid Arab. He has played the Montreux Jazz Festival and Sonar Barcelona, and reshapes his sounds on stage, so no two sets match. Balkan Taksim fold Balkan rhythms into psychedelic electronic music. Liveurope supports the concert, which the A38 runs as a night event for over-18s, with a dinner on board bookable alongside.
