Bus 230 is the easy way. It starts at Keleti station, calls at Heroes’ Square and at Újpest-központ on the M3, and ends at a stop called Káposztásmegyer, Aquaworld, about two minutes from the water park entrance. It runs only about once an hour, though, with a gap in the middle of the day.
Bus 30 follows the same streets every 15 to 30 minutes and stops a ten-minute walk away, so it is the one to fall back on. A car or taxi is quickest, at 20 to 25 minutes from the centre, and parking is free. There is no shuttle bus.
Location and address
By public transport
Allow 45 minutes to an hour from the centre. Every route below uses the same corridor north from Keleti station through Heroes’ Square and Újpest, so whichever bus comes first goes your way.
Bus 230, to the door
Bus 230 runs from Keleti pályaudvar M to Káposztásmegyer, Aquaworld, its last stop, about two minutes’ walk from the entrance. The whole run takes about 45 minutes. It calls at Hősök tere M on Heroes’ Square, about 35 minutes out, and at Újpest-központ M on the M3, about 15 minutes out.
It runs about once an hour every day of the week, with a gap in the middle of the day. In the autumn timetable it leaves Keleti at about 08:00, 09:00 and 10:00, then hourly from about 15:00 to 21:00, and leaves Aquaworld at about 10:00 and 11:00, then hourly from about 16:00 to 22:00. Check the times on BKK’s journey planner before you set out.
Bus 30, the frequent one
Bus 30 follows the 230’s route from Keleti, through Heroes’ Square and Újpest-központ M, every 15 to 30 minutes from early morning until nearly midnight. It does not go to the door.
Heading out, get off at Homoktövis iskola, the stop before the end of the line, and walk about 10 minutes. Going back, the 30 takes a different street, so board at Homoktövis utca / Megyeri út, about 12 minutes’ walk from the entrance, or at its first stop, Káposztásmegyer, Mogyoródi-patak, about 13 minutes away.
From the M3 metro
From the centre, the M3 is the quickest way north. Ride it to Újpest-központ, the end of the line, about 15 minutes from Deák Ferenc tér, then change to bus 230 or bus 30 at the Újpest-központ M stops for the last 15 minutes or so.
A single ticket covers changes between metro lines but not from the metro to a bus, so the M3 route takes two single tickets, one 90-minute ticket, which allows changes, or a travelcard.
On foot from the bus stops
There is nothing else nearby to walk from, so these are the walks from the stops. The times are worked out from the walking route to the water park entrance.
From the bus 230 stop (about 140 m, 2 minutes)

The 230 ends just south of the building. Walk up past the car park and the water park entrance is the glass front under the AQUAWORLD sign, with the dome rising behind it.
From Homoktövis iskola, bus 30 (about 800 m, 10 minutes)
Head north-west from the stop to the car park in front of the dome, and the water park entrance faces it.
To Homoktövis utca / Megyeri út, bus 30 back to town (about 940 m, 12 minutes)
Bus 30 heading back to Keleti does not call at Homoktövis iskola. Walk south from the entrance to the stop on Homoktövis utca at the Megyeri út junction, or to the first stop of the line at Mogyoródi-patak, about a minute further.
By car and taxi
From the M0 ring road, take the Dunakeszi-Dél, Káposztásmegyer exit, which is exit 73 coming from Pest. At the roundabout take the exit for the shopping centre, then the first possible turn, and Íves út is on the left. From there follow the Aquaworld signs.
From the city centre it usually takes 20 to 25 minutes by car, longer in the rush hour. A taxi is also the quickest way back, and the hotel reception can order one for you.
Accessibility
The step-free route is the M3 and a bus. BKK’s timetable data marks every bus 230 and bus 30 journey as wheelchair accessible, and Újpest-központ on the M3 has a lift to each platform. From the bus 230 stop it is about two minutes to the entrance.
Inside, Aquaworld says disabled guests have obstacle-free access to all its facilities, the slides excepted. The rest of what to expect inside is in the Accessibility tab of our Aquaworld guide.
