World Press Photo 2026 at Budapest Zoo

The year's winning press photographs, shown in the Biodóm lobby at the zoo. It is sold on its own ticket, separate from zoo admission, and keeps its own hours.
About the event
An independent jury picked this year's winners from 57,376 photographs entered by 3,747 photojournalists in 141 countries. The subjects run from armed conflict and abuses of power by law enforcement to the climate crisis and women's rights.
Two companion shows run alongside it. Up and Down gathers the photojournalists of 24.hu on this year's election, and 1956: Firing Squad marks seventy years since the revolution through Sándor Bojár's photographs for MTI. You go in and out through the Biodóm gate, not the zoo's main entrance. Guided tours for school groups are booked by email and run on weekdays only.
