Verka Serduchka at Barba Negra
Sunday 25 October
Andriy Danylko's comic pop character takes the big room with a full band. Tickets are sold online only, and nothing about the show is understated.
About the event
Verka Serduchka is the character Danylko has built his career on, and he is one of the best-known Ukrainian performers of recent decades. The act puts pop songs, comedy and stage spectacle in the same show rather than choosing between them, and that is how it travelled: the songs under the name have reached wide audiences right across Eastern Europe. It is on the Red Stage, the venue's festival-sized covered room, with a line-array sound system, a balcony level and the bars and street food out in the yard. Entry is by ticket barcode after a security check, and anyone under 18 needs an adult with them.
