About the event
Bálint Szajki is a photojournalist at 24.hu and a member of the Pictorial Collective. He travelled the network to illustrate Mozdonyfüst, a forthcoming book by his colleague József Nagy, and the several dozen pictures here are the result. His subject is the people who keep the trains, the track and the workshops going, and what they carry of the past while they do it.
Klára Szarka, a photo historian, curates. The photographer and picture editor Árpád Kiss-Kuntler opens the show, and Szarka leads a tour of it later in the run. Entry to the exhibition and to everything around it is free. A book of the photographs is due from 24 Extra and BookLab.
