Branford Marsalis and Dianne Reeves celebrate John Coltrane
Thursday 12 November

Coltrane made one album with a singer, with Johnny Hartman in 1963. Marsalis's quartet and Dianne Reeves have recorded their own answer to it, and this is the world tour behind it.
About the event
Müpa is producing the concert as part of its Jazz Legends series. Marsalis brings his quartet, with Joey Calderazzo on piano, Eric Revis on double bass and Justin Faulkner on drums. Both headliners know the hall well, and this is a fifth appearance for each of them. Marsalis was last here with the quartet and Hungarian musician friends, playing a piece Müpa had commissioned from him for the occasion, and Reeves came as the special guest of Ferenc Snétberger during his time as the venue's Artist of the Season. The album the tour is built on is released in the autumn. The concert runs about an hour and a half.
