Birds on a Wire
Friday 13 November

A singer and a cellist who put Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen and John Lennon next to Baroque music and Brazilian songs. Their first concert in Hungary.
About the event
Müpa is producing the concert, and the duo take their name from a Leonard Cohen song. Rosemary Standley sings and plays harmonium. She is French-American and first became known abroad with the indie-folk band Moriarty, and of the many projects she has taken on since, this one has proved the most popular. Dom La Nena is Brazilian and plays cello as well as singing. They began working together in 2012, and their pared-back first album set Baroque music against American, French and Brazilian folk. Two more studio records have widened the range since. It runs about an hour and a half.
