Ballet Company of Győr: Nosferatu
17 to 18 November

The Győr company turns Bram Stoker's gothic novel into dance, choreographed by László Velekei to a score assembled from existing music. Two nights in Müpa's Festival Theatre.
About the event
Müpa is producing both performances. Velekei's Nosferatu is less a bloodthirsty monster than a creature cursed with immortality and drawn to the fragile business of being alive, and the piece works through love, death and responsibility rather than through shocks. Gabi Győri designed the costumes, Lajos Katavics and Ibolya Váray the set and Ferenc Stadler the lighting, with Alexandra Csepi as dramaturg and Levente Bajári and Krisztina Szőllősi as assistants. Strobe lighting and strong visual effects are used, so Müpa advises against it for anyone sensitive to bright light. It runs about two hours with one interval, and is recommended from the age of twelve.
