Altın Gün at the Akvárium Klub

Sunday 8 November

Photo: Akvárium Klub

The Dutch and Turkish band return to the Akvárium with Garip, their record for the Turkish folk bard Neşet Ertaş. Anatolian melodies, heavy basslines and banks of synths.

About the event

Altın Gün take Anatolian folk material and run it through the psychedelic funk rock of the 1970s, the synth pop of the 1980s and the sound of French and Italian film scores. The new record is played in the groove-led style the band is known for, looser and more varied than the records that came before it. East meets West is the obvious way to put it, and in their case the genres really do blur rather than take turns. It is in the Main Hall, the club's biggest room.
