Alkotás Öröme, a handicraft exhibition
7 October to 15 November

Members of the District XIII club of the Budapest association for people with motor disabilities show what they have been making, under a title that means the joy of making. Tablecloths, sewing boxes, jewellery, dolls and pieces for the home, and nothing to pay.
About the event
Folk art is the branch of applied art that borrows the marks of peasant craft and turns out objects to use as well as to look at, and work made this way has come back into fashion. The makers combine those traditions with newer ideas, and twenty-first century production methods have found their way in alongside the needlework. The display is refreshed as the run goes on. It hangs in a working culture centre rather than a gallery, so the rooms are open through the working day and at weekends only when the centre has something on.
