Macy Gray at the Akvárium Klub
Monday 30 November
I Try and the rest of them, in the Akvárium's biggest room, on the Trouble With The Truth Tour. That rasp of a voice is the whole draw.
About the event
Gray grew up in Canton, Ohio and went to USC in Los Angeles to study screenwriting. She wrote songs for friends as a student, and stepped up to the microphone herself the day the singer booked for a demo session failed to turn up. Her 1999 debut On How Life Is followed, and I Try from it won her a Grammy for best female pop vocal performance. Two BRIT Awards and five Grammy nominations came after, along with film and television parts in Training Day, For Colored Girls and Fuller House. Her home town put her into the National Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame in 2014.
