Sárik Péter Trió play Bartók at KULT7

One of Hungary's best known jazz trios reworks Bartók's piano and choral music as jazz. The concert marks World Music Day in Erzsébetváros.
About the event
Sárik Péter plays piano, Péter Tamás bass guitar and Gálfi Attila drums. They have 20 countries behind them, with regular returns to London, Paris, Helsinki, Istanbul, Moscow and Beijing. The first album of Bartók arrangements came out in 2018 and was launched in the grand hall of the Liszt Academy, and the programme has since travelled to 15 countries. It won a Fonogram award as jazz album of the year, and the live version was nominated for the same prize. Sárik says the point is to win over listeners who have kept their distance from Bartók. Tickets are sold online and at the venue, and Erzsébetváros residents can register by email and come free.
