Met Live in HD: Mozart's Così fan tutte at the Uránia

The Metropolitan Opera's season of cinema broadcasts opens with Mozart's comedy of two men who test their fiancées in disguise. The Uránia takes the live relay from New York on the Saturday and repeats it the following Sunday.
About the event
Phelim McDermott's production moves the story to a Coney Island funfair of the 1950s, where the two couples find themselves on one thrill ride after another. Federica Lombardi and Samantha Hankey sing Fiordiligi and Dorabella, Duke Kim and Andrey Zhilikhovsky are Ferrando and Guglielmo, Ana María Martínez plays the maid Despina, and Gerald Finley returns to Don Alfonso, a part the Met last saw him sing six years ago. Nimrod David Pfeffer conducts.
This was Mozart's last work with the librettist Lorenzo Da Ponte, first staged in Vienna in 1790 under the subtitle The School of Lovers. Latecomers can only take a seat on the upper side gallery until the interval.
