Kőbánya Napja, a retro day at the Kőrösi

The Kőrösi hands its rooms over to the socialist decades for a day, with a Trabant and an Ikarus bus parked up, a retro buffet, a room of vinyl and a fashion show. Free to walk into, and Hungarian throughout.
About the event
Kőbánya's own cultural centre runs it, under the district mayor's patronage, and the programme fills the building room by room. Two Hungarian film classics are screened, Égigérő fű and Csinibaba, and there is a Rubik's cube contest, a pub quiz and a retro lunch with a live band. Károly Nemcsák and Anna Fehér, from the television series Szomszédok, appear, and Bertalan Farkas, the first Hungarian in space, is a guest later in the day. Running throughout: a mocked-up flat, typewriter and photography displays, a Malév corner, pioneer relics, an Orion spacecraft installation, porcelain painting and a hairdressing salon. The Szandi Rock Band close it.
