Mariann Falusi sings country and klezmer

Country and klezmer in one set, which is not a pairing you meet often. Mariann Falusi makes the case for both, with a four-piece band behind her.

About the event

Falusi reckons country is the easy half. Her surname means village girl, and she says she is one in fact as well as in name, though Barcs has since grown into a town. Her own Facebook name is Kántri Méri, so there is something to live up to. Klezmer she calls the more complicated love, and she takes it in both its moods, the skipping and cheerful and the kind that wails. Kristóf Darvas is on piano, Tamás Szakál on violin, Márton Soós on double bass and Bálint Petz on guitar. Tickets are sold through the centre's own ticket shop, with a seat chosen at booking.
